We have an important weekend coming up in Houston. On May 12 is the 25th Annual Art Car Parade (which is free!), but there are all sorts of related activities before and after.
For instance, tomorrow (Thursday May 10th) it will be the LegendaryArt Car Ball, which is know as one of "Houston wildest parties".
I've never personally been there but I'm planing to attend this year and have a good feeling about this.
Just a heads up, this IS a payed event that will set you back $25 online or $30 at the door.
There's also a free sneak peak happening at Discovery Green the day before the parade (Friday May 11th) from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm where you'll be able to get close to the cars without so much of Houston's summer heat.
The parade itself runs on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, but you might want to get there a little earlier since you'll be get a closer look at the cars, talk to the artist that created them and also.. well, get a good spot to sit down and watch the parade itself when it starts (the cars start lining up at 9:00 am).
For more information you can check directly on events website or on their parent site: The Orange Show.
